(ND 2664 3986) Green Hill (NAT) Broch (NR) (remains of)

OS 1:10,000 map, (1977)

A green mound, about 8ft high, covering the ruins of a broch, the outer wall of which is exposed in places, showing an overall diameter of about 64ft. The existence of outbuildings is suggested by surface indications on the slope W of the base of the mound.

RCAHMS 1911.

A much mutilated broch as described above. No surveyable remains of outbuildings.

Resurveyed at 1:2500.

Visited by OS (A A) 5 May 1967.

ND/2664 3986

Possible broch in Latheron, Caithness, consisting of a green mound 2.4m (8ft) high with a curved outer wallface exposed in places; this suggests a diameter of c. 19.5m (64ft) [2]. There are traces of outbuildings on the slope west of the base of the mound.
