'Formerly a salt-pan was wrought here; and to accomodate the people a place of worship, a chapel had been erected, the ruins of which are still to be seen in a churchyard, which, till lately, was used as a burial-ground'. [R1] [R2]
Irregular turf covered mound about 36m x 22m. Long axis approximately E/W. Raised area shows extensive rubble. Length of coursed stone visible to W. Shell midden evident. Site of recorded mediaeval chapel. No boundaries or markers were found of graveyard. The chapel was ruinous at the end of the 18th Century. [R3]
