Field Visit (September 1993)

(NR 3806 6610) This farmstead is situated 200m W of Kepolls and comprises the stone footings of three buildings, a kiln, and associated enclosures. It is shown as unroofed on the first edition of the OS 6-inch map (Islands of Islay and Jura, Argyllshire, 1882, sheet 198).

A farmstead comprising four unroofed buildings, one of which is a long building, one unroofed structure, which may be a kiln, and two enclosures, one of which is annotated as a Sheepfold, is depicted on the OS 1st edition 6-inch map (Argyllshire 1867, sheet cxcviii). Two unroofed buildings and one unroofed circular structure are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1981).
