(ND 0392 6459) Burnt Mound (NR)

OS 1:10,000 map, (1975)

Not a burnt mound but a cairn about 13.5m in diameter, prominently placed on the crest of a ridge. No burnt stone is now evident, and there is no nearby groundwater source. It has a stony content, but field clearance has been placed upon it at a later date.

Visited by OS (J B) 24 September 1981.
