(HU 3326 5294) Standing Stone (OE)

O.S.6"map, Shetland, 2nd ed.,(1903).

A huge, irregular, schistose block, with a girth of about 9'. It may originally have stood as much as 12' 6" high, for it does not seem to have been deeply embedded and the three portions into which it has been broken, since it was thrown down, are respectively 7'9", 3'2" and 18" long.

Standing Stone, Brecks Hill.

This stone has been a huge schistose block of irregular outline, with a girth of about 9 ft. It may originally have stood as much as 12 ft. 6 in. high, for it does not appear to have been deeply embedded and the three portions into which it has been broken, since it was thrown down, are respectively 7 ft. 9 in., 3 ft. 2 in., and 18 in. long.
