Archaeology Notes

ND02SE 27 0505 2335

At ND 0505 2335, on a natural shelf, is a hut circle, measuring 10.5m NW-SE by 9.5m transversely within a heather-covered wall largely obscured by peat cover. At the entrance in the SE, the wall is 0.6m high and spread to 3.5m. Outside the entrance, barring direct access, is an elongated mound, 5.0 by 3.0m. The area around the hut is stone-free and may have been cultivated, but there is no trace of stone clearance heaps.

Surveyed at 1:10,000.

Visited by OS (N K B), 11 November 1982.
