Archaeology Notes

ND02NE 5 0869 2928

At ND 0869 2928, on a prominent knoll, are the slight remains of a cairn, consisting of a small pile of stones with a flat slab in the centre. The perimeter is not definable, but it must have been at least 7.0m in diameter.

Visited by OS (J L D), 2 July 1960.

These few loose stones may only be the remains of a shepherd's cairn.

Visited by OS (A A), 21 March 1968

No change. There are insufficient remains here to indicate a burial cairn.

Visited by OS (N K B), 23 November 1982.
