Archaeology Notes

NT01SE 47 069 123

The remains of a circular enclosure, measuring about 13m in diameter internally, are situated on a terrace about 250m WSW of Corehead farmstead (NT01SE 53). A turf-stripping scar is visble around the enclosure, and what may be the remains of a small annexe or quarry are situated immediately to the S.

On the hillslope to the W and S of the enclosure, there are the remains of rig-and-furrow cultivation which, on the steeper areas of slope, has formed into low lynchets.

Visited by RCAHMS (JRS), 28 February 1994.
