For houses, nos 60-64 George Street, see NX44SW 49. For watching brief at 62 George Street, see NX44SW 53.00.

During the demolition of the wall column between the W ground-floor window and the S doorway of 62 George Street, the discovery was made of a carved gravestone cross-slab, of c10th to 11th century AD date, depicting scenes of possible Christian art with human and animal figures. It had been re-used as a door lintel.
