Activities

Aerial Photographic Interpretation (20 December 2013)

A system of practice trenches, probably dating to the First World War, has been recorded as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs (RCHAMSAP 1988) to the N of Scoonie Golf Course. The trenches zig zag from NE to SW for a distance of about 95m. One trench branches off from the main system to meet a second line of trenches to the SE. Rig (NO30SE 111) and a scatter of pits (NO30SE 54) have been recorded as cropmarks in the vicinity of the trenches.
