Archaeology Notes

NY37NE 10 c. 392 794.

Two silver brooches and fragments of two others and a gold, sapphire and emerald ring, a pebble-set gold ring, 15 jet beads, and 70 silver pennies and 3 halfpennies of Edwards I and II, penny of Alexander III and 2 of John Baliol, ploughed up at Woodhead Farm in 1863. In the National Museum of Antiquities.

According to J and R Hyslop (1912) this hoard was found at New Woodhead (NY 392 794) in 1864. No further information could be found by local enquiries.
