Bruce's Well is a small spring on the east side of the River Annan issuing from a rock a little below the Gala Burn. It is supposed to have received this name when Robert the Bruce resided at Annan Castle (i.e. AD 1292-1306).
Name Book 1858
Wintry conditions made a close-up inspection of Bruce's Well impossible but it is evident that it is a natural spring, and that the published location is correct.
