Koylbeg : Shown as a group of about six dwellings with arable beside river.

W Roy 1747-55.

Centred NC 828 109. Footings and remains up to 0.4m in height of at least twelve dwellings, ranging in size from 7.5m by 4.0m to 37.0m by 4.5m, together with associated enclosures.

Visited by OS (R D L) 28 April 1964.

A township, comprising one roofed building, which is a school, three unroofed buildings and two enclosures, is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1879, sheet lxxxviii). Seven unroofed buildings, six enclosures and a head-dyke are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,560 map (1969).
