A fine copper pot was found when excavations were made at Maxwell's shop, High Street, Dumfries. It stands on three legs, each an inch in height, 10 1/2 inches to the rim, the diameter of the latter is 10 1/2 inches, the sides swelling to 12 inches. It has two right-angle shaped handles from rim to side, and has been patched, the rivets being still visible on the inside.
