Archaeology Notes

NX95NW 7 9407 5709.

There is a probable standing stone on the slope below Kells and some 200 yards east of the east lodge of Southwick House. It is granite, and tapers to a height of 5ft. 3 ins. from a basal circumference of 9ft. It is somewhat boat-shaped in section with its flat faces looking east and west.

RCAHMS 1914, visited 1911.

This stone is at NX 9407 5709. A growing crop of oats prevents a close examination.
