The crannog in Lochrutton Loch is named Dutton's cairn on the maps.

Bones and teeth of cattle have been found on the 'Wee island' towards the west side of Lochrutton Loch. Within the last 10-12 years it has become covered with brushwood etc. Previously it was only exposed in dry seasons.

[No location cited]. Dutton's Cairn: this island is situated 110m SW of the crannog NX87SE 3. It was visited, and found to comprise a mixture of boulders and gravel. It is evidently natural.
