NX35SE 5 397 514.

A polished greenstone axe from Barvernochan (NX 386 522), formerly in the collection at Broughton House, Kirkcudbright, is now in Dumfries Museum. It measures 10 1/4 by 2 ins, with flat sides and a slightly oblique cutting edge.

Group VI. Dumfries Museum Accession no: 1961-20. (Located by Williams to Barnbarroch, Whauphill. Perhaps 'Hawk Hill' at NX 394 516, between the farms of Barvernochan and Barnbarroch -at NX 397 514 - is intended.)
