(NX 3521 5807) Standing Stones (NR) (2 shown)

OS 25" map (1909)

Two boulders set on end, 12' 6" apart, which, from the slightly convergent angle at which they stand to each other, have possibly been members of a stone circle. The higher stone is 4' 9" in height, 9' 6" in circumference near the centre, and is pointed at the upper end. The lower stone is 3' 5" high.

RCAHMS 1912, visited 1911

NX 3522 5808 To slightly pointed weather-worn boulders 4.8m apart. The northerly stone is 0.8m by 0.6m by 1.1m high and the southerly one is 1.4m by 0.7m by 1.3m high. There is no evidence to suggest that these stones once formed part of a stone circle.

Surveyed at 1:2500.

Visited by OS (BS) 21 April 1976
