(NX 3440 4211) Flints found at this spot in 1962 and later disclosed a Mesolithic occupation site, which was excavated in 1967 and 1969. A total of 891 Mesolithic flints of various types have come from this site, for which a radiocarbon date of 4050 BC +/- 110 years has been obtained.

W F Cormack 1967; 1970; J M Coles 1964

The area is regularly ploughed and there is no trace of the excavation site. Ground interpretation of Cormack's plan positions the site at NX 3438 4211. The flints are in the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS)

(W F Cormack, Royal Bank Buildings, Lockerbie).
