Archaeology Notes

NC70SW 26 c. 72 01.

A portion of the upper part of an urn of yellow clay with two projecting ribs and a finely chipped spearhed, 2ins long by 1in broad, of dark-coloured flint, found in a cist under a tumulus at Strathfleet (NC 72 01) were donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) in 1869 by Lawson Tait.

Proc Soc Antiq Scot 1871.

Urn listed under 'Food Vessels' (Accession no: EE 53).
