Archaeology Notes

NT75SW 17 74422 50226

This site was originally created in connection with the reference below (R Gibson 1905) and was described as 'Fair' in the Class sub on the main page. It has been updated to become a general site for the village of Polwarth and as such incorporates the reference to the fair. Information from RCAHMS (KD), July 2002.

In a Royal charter given to Sir Patrick Home of Polwarth in 1669, he was given the privilege of holding two fairs at Polwarth (NT 745 501), one on 13th January, the other on 24th August.

R Gibson 1905.
