Archaeology Notes

NT75SE 11 c. 750 536.

Several stone coffins (?cists) were found c 1832 in a hollow near the top of a knoll in the Covert Park, a short distance SE of Raecleughhead. J Ferguson 1894.

Local enquiries failed to locate Covert Park; (but see Covert Plantation - NT 750 536). No trace of knoll seen in the area indicated.

Visited by OS (RD) 22 July 1970.

No further information.
