OS 1:10,000 map, (1975).

The tower or peel at Hundalee was destroyed during the 18th century.

NSA 1845.

A lintel from the former tower is positioned above the fireplace in the kitchen of the existing house of Hundalee and bears the date '1667'.

RCAHMS 1956; W Laidlaw 1905.

The site of the tower of Hundalee was pointed out by Mr J C Brown of Hundalee, nr Jedburgh, as being at NT 6456 1871, where the amorphous footings of a building can still be seen on a slight platform above gullies to the S and E. The carved lintel is still as described by the RCAHMS.
