Archaeology Notes

NT58SW 21 c. 51 83.

There was a Trinitarian friary at Dirleton (NT 51 83) according to Bisset, but this is not certain. The chapel of St. Andrew, Dirleton, founded by the predecessors of Patrick, Lord Haliburton (d. 1505) is mentioned in 1507 as held by the Trinitarians. The friar lands which formed part of the temporality of the prior of Dirleton had been annexed to the Crown by 1588.
