Archaeology Notes

NT57NE 25 59052 75168

A possible trackway and a block of rigs have been recorded as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs (RCAHMSAP 1977). The possible trackway extends NE from the public road (NT 59011 75105) for about 120m, before turning to run E for 40m. The cropmark of the ditch terminates at a field boundary where there is a change to a less responsive crop. In the field around and to the NW of the trackway the furrows of straight narrow rig can be seen intermittently, aligned NNW and SSE.
