Three ornamented stone whorls 'found in the neighbourhood of Hawick' were purchased for Royal Museum of Scotland, RMS (formerly National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) between May and November 1903. A further ten whorls 'from Hawick' were purchased between November 1903 and May 1904.
