Archaeology Notes

HU31SE 18 3926 1061.

(HU 39 10). A Viking grave, said to contain an iron sword and scabbard, broken in three pieces, a small cooking pot, and part of a human skull, was found whilst bulldozing the site for Sunburgh Airport Control Tower during the Second World War. The relics are now lost.
