(NT 4018 7554) Bronze Age Cist found 1931 (NAT)

OS 1:1250 map (1974)

A sandstone cist, 16" by 14" by 16" deep, was found in June 1931, when digging a drain running parallel to and about 3' W of the gable of 20 Winton Park about 6' from the NW corner of the building. It lay 15" below ground level and contained a food vessel with a quantity of cremated human bones and some small pieces of charcoal. The food vessel was donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland [NMAS].
