Built by Robert Paterson, 1862, largely refaced 1981. Under the central oriel is a carved portrait head by John Rhind. The inscription 'HEAVE AWA' CHAPS, I'M NO DEAD YET' commemorates the rescue of a boy buried in the collapse of the previous building on the site, of which the six-storeyed rear wing to Paisley's Close survives.
RCAHMS 1951; J Gifford, C McWilliam and D Walker 1984.

This tenement is modern, but the extension to the court behind maybe as old as the 18th century. The extension is six storeys in height and is built of rubble, the voids having back-set margins; the upper floors are entered from a stair within the N.W. corner.
