Archaeology Notes

NT17NW 38 1323 7835.

The outer end of The Craigs (NT 132 783) bears the ruin of a two-storeyed 17th century house and has been cut away to accommodate the lower storey.

RCAHMS 1929, visited 1927

The two gable ends and one wall of a house, oriented N-S, appear in a photograph taken at least 60 years ago.

Miss Reid, undated

NT 1323 7835. All that remains of this old house is the SE corner, standing to a height of 1.3m, and a 6.0m length of the E wall. It is not certain that this house was of 17th century date (Miss Reid, Black Castle, South Queensferry).

Visited by OS (BS) 14 August 1974
