Archaeology Notes

NT15SE 13 c. 15 51

Possibly on map sheet NT15SW.

There was a peel-tower at Linton, still in existence in 1600, but no trace of it is left; perhaps it stood at Castlelaw (NT 145 509). A tower is marked at Linton on Blaeu's Atlas of 1654.

J W Buchan and H Paton 1927

Not located. The 'tower' shown on Blaeu's Atlas is merely a symbol for the village of Linton.

Visited by OS (RD) 9 January 1970.
