OS 6" map, 2nd series, (1900)

'Runstonfoote' (Roundstonefoot) is marked on the right (i.e. west) bank of the Moffat Water, on Lord Burghley's map of c.1590 showing castles and fortified houses 'in the Debatable Land'.

Burghley c. 1590.

A portion of wall about 6' long, with a loop-hole, is all that remains. Name Book 1857

There is now no trace of this castle. Its site is covered by a silage pit. No further information.

There are no visible remains of this castle. It is depicted on a map of about 1590, and in 1857 a portion of wall about 1.83m long, with a 'loophole', still remained.
