Archaeology Notes

NT07NW 28 001 772.

An almshouse was in existence in Linlithgow before 1448. This is apparently to be identified with the alms-house in the Kirkgate (NT 001 772) which appears in 1578, and which evidently continued in being until its destruction during the Cromwellian period.
