(NT 0998 4596) Wallace's Chair (NR)

OS 6" map (1912)

A small crag, near Millburn, on which Wallace is said to have slept when en route from Tantallon to Lanark. 300 men accompanied him and were bivouacked around the crag.

Name Book 1859

A possible earthwork at Wallace's Chair was trenched and proved to be a natural feature.
