(NS 8881 9723) St. Servana's Well (NR).

OS 6" map (1958)

The Well of St Servanus, Alva, was still to be seen in St Serf's glebe in 1845, but is now just a marsh on the west side of the lower cemetery gate. An apparently pre-Christian burial was found in the glebe, perhaps associated with the standing stones which were once near St Serf's Church (NS89NE 18).

A Drummond 1936

In the cemetery is the old well, known as St Servana's; it is reputed to be one of the original holy wells, and to have healing powers (W Simpson, The Manse, Alva).

This well is now covered by a modern concrete block, it appears to be the centre of the cemetery drainage system.
