This artificial mound, about 6m high, is situated 250m NE of Cumbernauld House. Its date and purpose are uncertain.

RCAHMS 1982, visited 1982

The Mote was made about 30 or 40 years ago in honour of Lord Elphinstone going to be Governor of part of India.
