( HU 2286 5133 ) Sclaters Cuml (O.E.).
OS 6" map, Shetland, 2nd ed., (1903)
A scattered heap of large stones among which are some slight indications of a rudely built inner face. It has a diameter of 40' and is listed under 'Cairns'.
RCAHMS 1946. Visited 1931
Sclaters Cuml, the remains of a Neolithic/Bronze Age homestead situated at the base of a slope. A quantity of tumble has obscured most of the internal detail but traces of compartments can be seen. There are vague traces of field walls around, and to the W of the homestead.

Field Visit (10 June 2010)
This prehistoric building, which stands in peaty moorland 600m SW of Black Ward, measures about 10m in overall diameter with an entrance almost certainly on the SE. The interior is choked with rubble within which various lines can be made out, but no coherent pattern distinguished. The NE part of the building is overlain by a small enclosure and several fragmentary stone walls, largely obscurely by peat, are visible in the vicinity, but especially to the W.
Visited by RCAHMS (SPH) 10 June 2010.
