An oval pebble, 3.3 ins by 2.6 ins by 1 in, with a central hour-glass perforation, from Achmelvich (NC 058 246) is in Dunrobin Museum (Accession no. X 88) (Information from A S Henshall [TS catalogue of Dunrobin Museum] 1966).
This is probably the ovoid macehead which Roe's (F Roe 1970) distribution map shows as coming from this vicinity.
