The Culaig Hotel was previously a residence of the Duke of Sutherland and is built on the site of Lochinver House, a mansion of the Macdonald of Lochinver, which was destroyed by fire a few years ago.

'Culag' (current spelling) Hotel is 19th century with later additions. No evidence of an earlier building on the site was seen.

Activities

Field Visit (1 December 2009)

The Culag Hotel is a 19th century Baronial style building with later very modern additions. It is currently still in use as a hotel.
