1-15 Walmer Crescent, 1857, Alexander Thomson

Complete three-storey and basement, straight faceted terrace following crescent plan, with terminal pavilions. With its Schinkel-type continuous second-floor pilastered window band, Walmer Crescent anticipates Moray Place of 1859 (see p. 00). With three-storey square projecting bay windows rising from the basement, this is 'Greek' Thomson's most austere design, although one of his grandest and most imposing.
