Workmen found small portions of human bones mixed with ashes, small pieces of charcoal, and the broken remains of earthen vessels, at a depth of 9' when digging the foundations of the branch of the Commercial Bank being built at Glasgow (centred NS 5865). The relics were confined to a very narrow ridge or trench, which extended in length to about 12 - 14', running E-W.
