Archaeology Notes

NS56NE 21 5536 6579.

(NS 5536 6579) St Constantine's Well is now covered by the Pearce Institute (Thomson nd.). It was unearthed when the excavations for the foundations of the institute were being made. It was dry, and its stones, all hand worked, had every appearance of great age.

T S B Thomson nd.; Brotchie 1904.

The exact position of this well, under the Pearce Institute, was not ascertained.

Visited by OS (WMJ) 28 August 1951.
