RMS HR 887 Square plate-headed pin with projections. Date and affinities uncertain.
L R Laing 1973.
Possibly found in area of settlement NB45NW 2.
NB 43 59 A piece of worked bone, possibly a point/pin or toggle, was recovered from Galson beach. It is well finished all over but lacks the elaboration and decorative value of a pin. Galson is the site of a multi-period first millennium BC/AD settlement and cist burials have also been found in the area. The find should be seen within this cultural milieu. The object was claimed as Treasure Trove (TT 70/05) and allocated to Museum nan Eilean, Steornabhagh.

NB 43 59 An enamelled mount was found at Galson. Parallels for this type of mount can be found in Viking Age island contexts (for a close parallel see Graham-Campbell 1986 in PSAS 116). The type has been associated with horse-harness.
Claimed as Treasure Trove (TT 17/08) and allocated to Museum nan Eilean
