In Paisley Museum is a sculptured stone, bearing two male heads said to represent the two Covenating martyrs, John Park and James Algie, who were hanged at Pailsey Cross on 3rd February 1685. They were buried in the common burial ground at the Gallow-green; in 1789 their remains were removed to Woodside Cemetery, where a monument to them has been erected (at NS 4711 6385).
