Walkinshaw House is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Renfrewshire, 1864, sheet viii), and is described in the Object Name Book (ONB) of the Ordnance Survey as 'A superior dwelling house with garden, offices and ornamental ground attached, the property of and occupied by Alexander Cunninghame Esq.'.

Name Book 1862-63.

A probable early 18th century description of Renfrewshire notes Walkingshaw House, 'one of the pleasantest seats in the county', as situated where the Black Cart and the River Gryfe join. It has recently been burnt, but was being rebuilt. (Walkinshaw Gardens are at the above grid reference).

W Macfarlane 1907

Walkinshaw House is depicted on the OS Revision Edition map (Renfrewshire, sheet VIII.10 & 14, 1913). It has since been demolished.
