A flake of grey flint was found in ploughed soil at NS 343 321 in 1973, and in 1974 over forty patinated and unpatinated flint blades, cores and flakes were found at NS 346 313.

Both locations, at about 20m OD, are fairly level and under regular cultivation. Nearly all the Mesolithic material found by Mr Macneill is now held by A Morrison, Archaeology Dept, Glasgow University; all other finds are retained by Macneill, 6 Lawrence St, Dowanhill, Glasgow.
