Note (1985)

Auchans NS c. 355 346 NS33SE 10

An urn, containing fragments of human bones, was found near the house of Auchans (NS 355 346) some years ago by a workman digging in a small mound of gravel. The urn, of very crude workmanship, disintegrated on exposure, the remaining fragments were sent to the manse, where they may still be seen. There is no tradition of a tumulus having existed where the urn was found.

RCAHMS 1985.

(Paterson 1863-6, i, 436).
