(Name: NR 9915 6395) Dun nam Muileach (NAT)

OS 6" map, Argyllshire, 2nd ed., (1900)

Three small natural hillocks at Ardlamont Point, caused by the upheaving of a huge irregular dyke, running nearly E-W, and "seemingly improved by art." They command a view to the entrance of Loch Fyne and the Kyles of Bute. Traditionally, a battle was fought here between the Lamonts and the Mull men.

Name Book 1863.

There is no evidence of any artificial work and the three hillocks known as Dun nam Muileach are entirely natural.

Visited by OS (I A) 25 October 1972.
