Field Visit (19 October 1977)
NR83NE 5 8988 3667.
NR 8988 3667. An isolated hut circle was found during field investigation situated on open moorland beside a small stream. The earth and stone bank, spread to 3.0m in width and 0.6m high, encloses a level featureless interior 6.5m in diameter. There is a 1.5m wide entrance in the south-east with a single orthostat on the west side.
Evidence of a field system to the north and east of the hut comprises a wall of small boulders enclosing an area 130m E-W by 80.0m. Two mounds (4.5m diameter and 0.4m high), within this wall, are probably field clearance heaps.
