OS 6" map, Argyllshire, 2nd ed., (1924)

Dun Domhnuill is a steep-sided grasy mound, c.104' base diameter by 33' high, with a flattened summit area 24' x 10', on which a few stones mark the site of a "Judge's Chair", which was destroyed by vandals within living memory. Some stones project from the sides of the mound, which may have been terraced in narrow ledges. This feature is strongly suggestive of a ciarn; later re-used as a Judgement Seat of the Lords of the Isles.

M Campbell and M Sandeman 1964.

A natural mound, with the remains of the 'Judge's Chair' on its summit. There is no evidence of terracing.

It is known locally as Dun Domhnuill.

Surveyed at 1:10 000.

Visited by OS (DWR) 28 May 1973.

As described in the report of 28 May 1973.

Surveyed at 1/10,000.

Visited by OS (TRG) 27 January 1977.

This natural mound measures 30m in diameter and is 10m in height. Oral tradition suggests that this was the seat of a medieval court.
